Rated Current & Voltage of M8 Series Connectors & Overload Cautions

Rated Parameter Core Rule

  • Core Count-dependent Rating : As small industrial connectors, the rated current and voltage of M8 connectors have slight differences according to the core count, following the universal industry standard, and the load capacity decreases with the increase of core count.

Industry Universal Rated Parameters

3/4 Core M8 Connector

The mainstream specification with relatively high load capacity, rated current 3A , rated voltage 60V DC / 30V AC , suitable for most basic low-power sensing and actuation equipment.

5/6/8 Core M8 Connector

Multi-core specification for multi-channel transmission, rated current 1.5-2A , rated voltage 30V DC / 24V AC , adapted to multi-signal small precision equipment.

Strictly Forbid Overload Use

Short-term overload hazard : Causes heating and oxidation of contact parts, reduces contact reliability, and accelerates the aging of connector internal components.

Long-term overload hazard : Results in insulation layer aging and cracking, easily leads to short circuit, and even burns the connector and peripheral industrial equipment.

Practical Use Suggestion: The actual load current/voltage is recommended to not exceed 80% of the rated value for safe and stable operation.

Technical Note: The rated parameters are tested under standard industrial conditions (25℃, normal atmospheric pressure); the actual load capacity of the connector will decrease in high-temperature, high-humidity and other harsh environments, and the load ratio needs to be further reduced appropriately.
