Shielded & Unshielded M12 A-coded Connector Differences & Selection

Core Difference Principle

  • Key Distinction: The ability to resist electromagnetic interference (EMI), different structural design for different industrial electromagnetic environments.

Version Characteristics & Application Scenarios

Unshielded Version

Lower production cost, simple structural design, no built-in metal shielding layer. Suitable for industrial sites with simple electromagnetic environment, such as ordinary sensor wiring, low-speed signal transmission and basic actuator connection.

Shielded Version

Built-in full coverage metal shielding layer, effectively resist electromagnetic interference from frequency converters, motors and high-power equipment. Ideal for precision signal transmission, high-speed encoders and harsh industrial environments with strong electromagnetic interference.

Technical Note: The shielding effect of shielded M12 connectors is based on reliable grounding of the metal shell. Ensure the shielding layer is fully grounded during installation to maximize anti-interference performance.
