Core Material Selection Principle

  • Scenario-oriented Selection : M9 connectors mainly adopt two mainstream housing materials, with different performance characteristics of hardness, corrosion resistance and shielding, which are adapted to industrial, medical, outdoor and other different application scenarios.

Mainstream Housing Materials & Application Scenarios

① Brass Nickel-plated

It has high hardness, excellent wear resistance and good electromagnetic shielding performance, and the cost is slightly higher. Suitable for industrial equipment and scenarios with electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements, which can ensure stable signal transmission and long service life.

② Engineering Plastic (PA66/PC)

Lightweight, strong corrosion resistance and good insulation performance with lower cost, but no shielding function. Suitable for medical equipment, small household appliances and outdoor humid scenarios; customized nickel-plated housing + shielded cable is optional for shielding needs.

Technical Note: The material directly determines the mechanical and electrical performance of the connector; for scenarios with both corrosion resistance and EMI shielding requirements, it is recommended to select customized nickel-plated metal shell connectors with corrosion-resistant coating.
